An EQIP Cooperative Conservation Project Initiative (CCPI) was approved for northern Loup County last year through NRCS.
The approved practices available for this CCPI project include:
- Brush Management (cedar cutting) – Low-Mid-High canopy
- Prescribed Burns
- Riparian Forest Buffer
- Prescribed Grazing – Rest and Monitoring
- Range Planting
The project was filed by the World Wildlife Fund in partnership with the Gracie Creek Landowners and focuses on restoring ecological processes and habitat for priority birds and plants. The intent of the project is to support and encourage management on private lands that is complimentary to other conservation efforts within the landscape.
